HR Assistant Manager (Maternity Cover) Overview Are you a proactive and approachable HR professional with a passion for fostering positive workplace relationships? We are seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to join a dynamic team on a 7-month fixed-term contract (with potential for extension). This is your chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting managers and employees across a wide range of employee relations matters, all while contributing to a workplace culture that values fun, respect, empowerment, and forward-thinking.

This full-time role is based at a modern office near York. Benefits Salary £29,000 - £33,000 depending on experience Mat leave contract 7 months - poss extended Hours - Full-time Private Medical Cover 25 days holiday  bank holidays. Responsibilities Providing expert advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters. Managing ER cases from start to finish, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, and appeals. Ensuring all ER matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with employment legislation and company policies. Supporting managers with short-term absence management, probation reviews, and flexible working requests. Coaching and upskilling managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

Analyzing and reporting on people data, including absence trends and ER metrics. Occasionally delivering training sessions and workshops on workplace policies and people-related topics. Collaborating with the wider HR team to enhance the overall employee experience. Traveling to other sites occasionally Qualifications Proven experience providing HR and employee relations advice. Strong knowledge of employee relations processes, policies, and UK employment law.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels. A positive, proactive, and approachable attitude. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Confidence using HR systems and IT packages, including HR reporting tools. A solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. CIPD Level 5 qualification (preferred but not essential). Knowledge of Dutch employment law (advantageous but not essential).

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
