Elevation Recruitment Procurement & Supply Chain division are delighted to be supporting a PLC manufacturing business, with the search & selection of a Category Procurement Manager – Polymers, based in South Yorkshire.
Job Title: Category Procurement Manager – Polymers
Category Spend Responsibility: ~ £80 million
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Category Procurement Manager to lead our global polymers category, managing an annual spend of approximately £80 million. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing and executing category strategies that deliver value, innovation, and supply security across a complex and dynamic market.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for polymers aligned with business objectives
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management
- Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation initiatives across the category
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities within the polymers sector
- Drive supplier performance through KPIs, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, sustainability goals, and risk management frameworks
- Proven experience in procurement or category management, ideally within polymers, chemicals, or related industries
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing large polymer or Resin spend categories (preferably £50m+) both virgin & recycled materials
- Skilled negotiator with experience managing strategic supplier relationships
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into action
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Degree qualified in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain, Business, Engineering) or equivalent experience
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable
- Competitive salary of £60,000 – £70,000 + Car + Package
