AboutThe Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager to develop and drive supplier performance, cost, and effective delivery through improving supplier relationships. You will work closely and manage the heads of different departments to ensure a well:stocked manufacturing operation across the manufacturing operation. Other responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures, order accuracy, and supplier delivery schedules.
- Manage the Yard (goods in) and stores departments.
- Set up new supplier products, maintaining accurate product codes, costs, and descriptions.
- Check and confirm order prices, and investigate any discrepancies or delays in stock deliveries.
- Negotiate and support Senior Managers in securing the best prices for orders.
- Collaborate with suppliers, build strong relationships, and maintain accurate records in our in:house system.
- Train and support the team to improve skills and ensure department KPIs are met.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager in a manufacturing or construction environment is essential
- Experience in managing staff.
- Background in establishing a successful supplier base and ensuring a well:stocked manufacturing operation.
- Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with current suppliers and able to negotiate with these regarding prices.
- The ability to identify and implement new ways of working to alleviate duplication, streamline systems and processes and achieve cost efficiencies.
- Excellent financial and commercial acumen.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office and purchasing/supply online software.
