Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager looking for a senior, hands‑on leadership role within a fast‑paced warehouse environment? We are seeking a Site Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations, ensure asset reliability, and drive a strong health & safety culture across the site.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for coordinating maintenance activity, managing risk, and ensuring the warehouse operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
About the RoleAs Site Maintenance Manager, you will be a vital member of the maintenance leadership team. You will take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, oversee day‑to‑day team activities, and ensure compliance with health, safety and operational standards.
You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and operational teams to prioritise workload, resolve technical issues and continuously improve site performance.
Key Responsibilities- Agree performance standards, working procedures and Safe Systems of Work with the Engineering Manager
- Plan, prioritise and coordinate reactive repairs, breakdowns and planned preventive maintenance
- Manage daily and weekly maintenance team activities
- Escalate complex equipment faults and failures where required
- Carry out sprinkler system inspections and operational checks
- Maintain material handling equipment and oversee efficient operation of the Building Management System (BMS)
- Ensure maintenance areas, workshops and stores are clean, safe and well‑organised
- Take delivery of maintenance spares and ensure correct storage and stock control
- Lead health & safety compliance, ensuring hazards are identified, controlled and communicated
- Assist with risk assessments, safety inspections and accident investigations
- Work closely with Health & Safety Advisors to implement preventative actions
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and safety documentation
- Act as a key point of contact for maintenance‑related enquiries and issues
- Apprentice‑trained with a recognised craft qualification
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager or senior maintenance role
- Strong knowledge of warehouse systems and material handling equipment
- Experience with sprinkler systems and PLC‑controlled equipment
- Proven ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice
- Experience working in high‑pressure, operational environments
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Confident communicator able to engage effectively at all levels
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong planning, organisation and attention to detail
