Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Registered Manager to join a growing residential childcare provider and lead a 3-bed children's home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Sheffield. The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and regulatory compliance of the home. You'll ensure the service operates in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards while promoting exceptional outcomes for every child. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll lead a dedicated staff team, maintain Ofsted readiness, and create a positive, stable environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager for the home.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of a 3-bed EBD children's home.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation.
  • Promote a therapeutic, trauma-informed, and child-centred approach throughout the service.
  • Recruit, supervise, develop, and inspire a high-performing staff team.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, risk management, and behaviour support.
  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and children's records are accurate, up to date, and outcome-focused.
  • Monitor the quality of care through audits, Regulation 44 visits, Regulation 45 reports, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Build positive relationships with local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families.
  • Manage budgets, occupancy, staffing levels, and the day-to-day operation of the home.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide effective leadership during emergencies when required.
About You

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Manager who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within the last 5 years working in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a management or supervisory role.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or working towards completion.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Experience preparing for and managing Ofsted inspections.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build and develop positive, high‑performing staff teams.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic care models.
  • Experience opening or developing children's residential services.
