Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

A GBP 35,000–45,000 DOE + Overtime (1.5x), 15.5 Days Holiday (increasing to 17.5 Days), Pension, PPE/Workwear, Ongoing Training and Specialised Safety Certificates.

4 on 4 off: 6 am to 6 pm.

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a stable company that offers job security and reliability.

The role is ideal for a mechanically biased engineer experienced with valves, pumps, motors, sprockets and chains, and who has worked in a heavy industry environment.

Responsibilities include carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment operating 24/7, with tasks such as maintaining bitumen blending tanks, high‑speed lamination lines, and thermal oil systems.

• Reactively maintain equipment on breakdowns.
• Perform PPMs on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, rollers, etc.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with MIG welding (experience not essential).
• Support project works.
• Cover support shifts when required to cover holidays.

• Mechanically biased with a strong understanding of valves, pumps, motors, sprockets and chains.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing or processing environments.
• Experience with bitumen blending tanks, high‑speed lamination lines, and thermal oil systems advantageous.
