Electronic Prototype Technician

Electronics Prototype Technician Permanent | 37.5 hours per week Ideal commute from Cambridge, Saffron Walden, Bishop's Stortford, or Royston Are you an experienced electronics professional with strong hands-on prototyping skills? Do you enjoy working closely with engineers to bring cutting-edge designs to life? We are looking for a talented Electronics Prototype Technician to join our Product Development and Manufacturing team.

About the Role This is a full-time, office-based position within our busy R&D and product development environment. You will play a key part in building, assembling, and troubleshooting advanced electronic prototypes-particularly in RF and PCB technology.

Key Responsibilities PCB and general electronics assembly to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards Hand soldering of fine-pitch SMD components (including 0603 and 0402 ) PCB rework and fault-finding Building complex prototypes from schematics and engineering drawings with minimal supervision Maintaining accurate build records and documentation using standard office IT tools Mechanical assembly and detailed wiring (advantageous) About You We're looking for someone who is:
Flexible and confident managing multiple tasks in a busy R&D lab Experienced- minimum 3 years in an electronics lab or assembly environment Comfortable working collaboratively with engineers as part of a project team Positive, proactive, and keen to learn new skills Able to contribute to maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient laboratory environment Applicants will be asked to demonstrate wiring and soldering skills as part of the selection process.
