Job RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing business within the mushroom production sector. This role would suit an experienced Team Leader, Production Supervisor or Senior Production Operative who is looking to take the next step in their career and progress into managing a larger team.
Working a Monday to Sunday shift pattern, you will be required to work weekends, with two days off during the week. You will be responsible for effectively planning and organising the workforce on the production line to ensure maximum production output, while maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be hands-on and confident leading a team, with the ambition to progress into managing a larger team in the future.
Key Responsibilities- Effectively plan and organise the workforce on the production line to ensure maximum production output
- Ensure all Hygiene, Health & Safety rules and procedures are followed by all operatives
- Ensure all operatives comply with quality and good manufacturing procedures
- Ensure production KPIs are achieved
- Drive efficiencies within the production line and department
- Effectively communicate company information to all operatives on the line
- Ensure the packhouse and associated areas are maintained to a high standard using a clean-as-you-go approach
- Ensure pre-production start-up checks and end-of-shift checklists are completed daily
- Ensure all orders are produced to the highest quality standard and within customer specifications
- Support the development and performance of the production team
Factory Maintenance / Manufacturing
Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Production Supervisor- Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar within a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Ability to work weekends, with two days off during the week
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures
- Ability to work to production targets and KPIs
- Experience with in a food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or similar production environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to organise and plan a production team effectively
- Experience working to quality standards and customer specifications
- A hands‑on approach with the ability to lead from the front
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Ability to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement within a production environment
- Experience with in the mushroom or fresh produce industry
- Experience managing a larger production team
- Previous experience working with production planning and workforce allocation
- IOSH or other relevant Health & Safety qualification
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
- £35,000 Basic Salary
