Marketing Management, Ecommerce, Retail Marketing, Digital Marketing
We’re working with an established and growing multi-site consumer retail business to appoint an experienced Marketing Manager into a key position within its head office team. This is a broad brand, retail and omnichannel marketing role, suited to somebody who understands how to grow a business across both physical stores and ecommerce.
About the Role
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded Marketing Manager who enjoys combining strategy with hands-on delivery. You’ll take ownership of the wider marketing approach, working closely with senior leadership, ecommerce and operational teams to build a consistent brand and drive customer acquisition, store footfall, online conversion, retention and repeat business.
Importantly, this is not simply a digital or paid-media position. The physical retail estate is a central part of the role. You’ll need to understand what drives customers into stores, how different locations and customer catchments require different approaches, and how online and offline marketing can work together to create measurable commercial growth.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for developing and delivering a clear, KPI-led marketing strategy across the business. Responsibilities will include:
- Developing the overall marketing strategy and campaign calendar across physical retail and ecommerce
- Translating commercial objectives into clear, measurable marketing plans
- Developing strategies to increase in-store footfall, store sales and online conversion
- Creating localised marketing campaigns across a multi-site retail estate
- Working closely with operational and store teams to understand customers, individual locations and local opportunities
- Connecting online and offline activity, including local promotions, customer communications and omnichannel initiatives
- Developing a consistent brand identity, tone of voice and customer experience across stores and digital channels
- Overseeing content across website, email, social media and in-store marketing materials
- Working closely with ecommerce colleagues across SEO, social, email, CRM, onsite merchandising and organic visibility
- Developing CRM, customer retention and loyalty activity to increase repeat business
- Using customer, store and performance data to identify commercial growth opportunities
- Setting meaningful KPIs across traffic, footfall, conversion, retention and ROI
- Reporting results and recommendations to senior leadership
- Managing the marketing budget with a strong focus on commercial return
- Reviewing campaigns to understand what worked, what didn’t and how future activity should improve
- Visiting locations across the estate where required to understand customer behaviour and ensure campaigns are being effectively delivered
- Building strong relationships across the business, from senior leadership through to operational and store teams
About You
We’re looking for somebody with:
- Around 5+ years’ experience at Marketing Manager, Senior Marketing Manager or comparable level
- Strong experience within B2C consumer marketing
- Ideally, experience within a multi-site retail business where physical stores are a significant part of the customer journey
- Demonstrable experience developing marketing activity that has increased store footfall, customer visits or physical retail sales
- Experience connecting physical retail and ecommerce as part of an omnichannel strategy
- Strong brand marketing experience, with the ability to create consistency across multiple locations and channels
- Good knowledge of SEO, social media, email marketing and CRM
- Experience developing CRM, retention, loyalty or repeat-purchase activity
- Strong understanding of customer journeys across both online and offline touchpoints
