OverviewWe’re partnering with a fast-growing food manufacturer that takes food safety and quality committed to the highest standards of food safety. They’re now looking for an experienced Technical Manager to take full site ownership of food safety and quality. This is a senior, influential role where you’ll set technical direction, lead audit performance, and be the go‑to for technical decisions. Working closely with Operations, NPD and Hygiene, you’ll be central to driving standards, embedding best practice and ensuring the business remains consistently audit‑ready.
Aboutyou
You’ll already be operating at a senior level within chilled food manufacturing and be confident owning the technical agenda on site. Specifically, you’ll have:
- Substantial experience in Technical / Quality roles within food manufacturing (ideally fast-moving product environments), managing teams and instilling quality culture across site
- As Technical Manager, you will have a strong track record of leading and delivering successful BRC and retailer audits
- Confidence making decisions, solving problems and influencing stakeholders
- A proactive, hands‑on, attitude to their work, sharing the current team motivations and rive towards greater success.
As Technical Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- End‑to‑end accountability for food safety and quality
- Investigating non‑conformances, complaints and incidents, completing root cause analysis and implementing robust corrective actions
- Managing, maintaining and improving the Quality Management System to retain BRC accreditation
- Leading HACCP development, review and implementation in line with legislation and best practice
- Hosting customer visits and external audits, with full ownership of corrective actions
- Tracking, analysing and reporting technical KPIs, driving corrective and preventative actions
- Managing and overseeing hygiene teams, standards and performance across the factory
- Managing supplier approval, raw material risk assessments and specifications to protect product integrity
- Leading, coaching and developing the technical team, building strong food safety culture across the site
You’ll be joining a values‑led business where food safety, quality and people development are genuinely prioritised. The role offers real autonomy, visibility at site leadership level, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact within a progressive FMCG operation that invests in its leaders.
