Sales Account Manager for Contractors

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing an existing customer base of contractors, with a particular focus on improving underperforming accounts and driving incremental sales growth. Customer focus will be on developing Tier 2 contractors, regional developers, whilst supporting the full array of customers we operate with.

Working closely with internal teams, the Sales Account Manager will proactively manage customer performance, identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling, and contribute to the achievement of business sales objectives. The role requires a commercially focused individual with excellent communication, relationship management and negotiation skills.

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop and hone their commercial skills in a supportive, collaborative and growth-orientated team, with plenty of opportunity to learn, take ownership and grow.

• Manage and grow an assigned customer portfolio of contractors, focusing on increasing sales and gross profit.
• Identify and develop underperforming accounts to unlock growth opportunities.
• Handle customer enquiries, quotations, and order processing efficiently.
• Manage customer expectations and resolve issues effectively, escalating where appropriate.
• Build strong relationships by understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maintain awareness of customer pipelines to anticipate and act on opportunities.
• Support marketing and category initiatives to drive product and campaign success.
• Apply pricing strategies in collaboration with the Commercial team.
• Identify new business opportunities within existing and prospective customers.
• Collaborate with Customer Service to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Share market and competitor insights with the wider team.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and ISO standards.
• Work collaboratively with Customer Services, Category management, Operations and Supply Chain, teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

• Strong customer focus and relationship management skills. Able to build credibility and rapport with customers at all levels

• Experience with SAP B1 and Microsoft Office (preferred).
