Are you a proactive salesperson who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and turning conversations into business?
Samuel Frank is recruiting an Aftersales Manager for a well-established industrial automation and bespoke machinery business in West Yorkshire. The company already generates £3–4m annually from Aftersales and wants someone to take ownership of growing that revenue.
This Aftersales Manager opportunity is about sales, not managing service engineers or spending your day producing quotations. You will have an established customer base, technical support internally and the freedom to develop a structured sales pipeline.
What will the Aftersales Manager be doing?- Contact existing customers proactively to discuss service contracts, maintenance packages and ongoing support.
- Identify equipment approaching the end of its warranty, ageing components and opportunities for spare parts or upgrades.
- Build a database of installed equipment and turn existing relationships into a qualified pipeline of opportunities.
- Arrange customer meetings, develop relationships and negotiate recurring Aftersales agreements.
- Work closely with the internal technical team who will prepare quotations and coordinate service delivery.
- Take ownership of sales activity, pipeline development and revenue growth with clear objectives and autonomy.
The business is genuinely open-minded about industry background. You could be selling service agreements in engineering or automation, selling bespoke machinery or working in automotive sales or dealership Aftersales, where service plans and extended warranties are part of your day-to-day role.
- A proven ability to pick up the phone, engage customers and generate additional business.
- Experience developing existing accounts, selling service packages or building a sales pipeline.
- Commercial confidence, enthusiasm and the initiative to work without close supervision.
- Comfortable meeting customers and working alongside technical colleagues; machinery knowledge can be developed through training.
- £40-60k basic salary depending on experience, plus a commission/bonus scheme
- Hybrid working with regular time at the Wakefield office; ideally suited to someone based in West Yorkshire or within a reasonable commute.
- An existing customer base and a significant opportunity to develop recurring revenue rather than starting from scratch.
- Internal product training, clear objectives and scope to progress into broader sales roles as the business grows.
