We are excited to offer a permanent Electrician in HMP Full Sutton. This role is based on-site and not accessible by public transport, with free parking available. There is a requirement to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary. The standard hours are 39 hours per week across 7 days with a weekend shift pattern.

At Amey, we support our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons. Our facilities management helps keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
• Responding to breakdowns, ensuring all works are carried out under the Safe System of Work and in a timely manner.
• Active fault finding / problem solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
• Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.
• Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations.
• Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services.
• Other tasks as required by the Site.
• Support local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.

• Ability to work alone and use initiative.
• Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
• Capable of working at heights.
• Appropriate technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above).
• BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition (sponsorship to upgrade from 17th Edition available; terms and conditions apply).
• Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution and installation and testing within a commercial environment.
• Experience in fire alarm systems and CCTV systems.
• IT skills.
