About the role

The team is committed to work with children and their families/carers, using a range of solution focussed, strength-based relationship practice models, including Signs of Safety, Systemic theory and the Family Finding approach. We are looking for colleagues who can help us continue to offer a unique service and truly make a difference to the young people of our county.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily supervision to Social Workers Support risk management and decision-making

Mentor colleagues and help develop their practice

Lead on quality assurance and performance monitoring

Chair multi-agency meetings and attend child protection conferences

What We’re Looking For
You should be a qualified Social Worker (DIPSW, CQSW, Masters, or Degree in Social Work), ideally with supervisory or management experience. You’ll need to demonstrate strong skills and knowledge aligned with the job specification.

It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027.
