Senior Frontend Engineer (Contract) - Retail Digital Platform
Location: West Yorkshire - 2 days per weekDuration: Initial 6-Month ContractRate: £450-£550 per day (Outside IR35)
The OpportunityWe're supporting a major UK retail organisation undergoing significant digital transformation across its e-commerce and customer experience platforms. They are looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to help deliver scalable, high-performance web applications and Progressive Web Apps (PWA) used by millions of customers.
You'll work with in agile product teams alongside Product Managers, UX Designers, Architects, Backend Engineers and QA specialists to build and enhance customer-facing digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain modern frontend applications using React and Type Script
- Deliver scalable, maintainable and high-performing web solutions
- Collaborate with product and UX teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Drive frontend engineering best practices across performance, accessibility and security
- Lead code reviews and contribute to technical decision-making
- Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices
- Optimise customer journeys across search, browse, basket and checkout experiences
