Class 1 Driver

This temporary Class 1 Driver role with Manpower UK operates from York, serving a major confectionery distributor.

The position offers £21.17 to £23.03 hourly, depending on duties.

Working patterns vary considerably: day driving, night trunking, shunting, and nights away, plus weekend availability. Shifts average eight to twelve hours, with two to four weekly, though hours remain ad hoc, covering holidays, sickness, and peak demand.

Drivers must hold a valid C+E licence and demonstrate full flexibility across all shift types.

Duties include:

• vehicle operation
• loading
• unloading

A meal allowance of up to £10 applies, and each shift guarantees a minimum of six paid hours.

Manpower is looking to recruit a Class 1 driver (C+E) to work at one of the largest confectionery distributors in the UK, based in the York area.

The ideal candidate must be flexible and be able to work various shifts days, nights, nights away, shunting. There will be weekend work also. Working on average 2 to 4 shifts per week.

- This is ad hoc requirement to cover extra work load, holidays and sickness so we cant guarantee regular hours

We are looking for driver that can work any required shifts (days, nights, trunking, shunting) and be fully flexible.

On average 8 to 12 hours shifts.

There are various aspects of the role, you will be expected to drive load and unload if needs be and also there will be some shunting work involved.

This vacancy is on a temporary but long term ongoing basis.

• 12 month + Class 1 experience
• No more than 3 points on your licence - no disqualifications will be accepted
• Successful candidate will be put forward for a 3 hour assessment/induction on site followed by 3 days of training.
