Yorkton Kids First is seeking a compassionate, independent and creative Home Visitor who has an interest and a passion in making a difference in the lives of Yorkton families and children. This position provides the opportunity to create positive changes for families by providing research-based information; creating connections with community supports; and supporting family directed goal development.

Expectations:

  • Establish and maintain a trusting relationship with families by providing continuous support through home visiting
  • Meet families in the family home
  • Use a strength-based approach while working with culturally diverse families
  • Assist families in developing their own goals, objectives and activities that best meets their needs
  • Assist families in the referral process to other programs or community supports
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain accurate records of home visits and electronic data collection
  • Remain accountable to SIGN and support the program principles
  • Be flexible with scheduling; may include occasional evenings and weekends
  • Adopt a safe work approach
  • Take direction and feedback from management and contribute to a healthy team environment

Qualifications and experience:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent or certification and training appropriate to the position
  • Experience working with children and families would be an asset
  • Valid drivers license and access to a personal motor vehicle is required
  • A recent (6 months or less), clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
