Mission:

• Support the licensed anesthesia provider in clinical settings.
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and delivery systems before and during anesthesia.
• Provide preoperative and interoperative support, including first‑level maintenance of anesthesia equipment.
• Clean, sterilize, disinfect, stock, order, and maintain routine anesthesia equipment.
• Maintain and organize the anesthesia environment, equipment, and supplies to facilitate department function.
• Assist with acquisition of all equipment/supplies for anesthesia cases and inventory/ordering support.
• Provide perioperative technical support to anesthesia professional staff, ensuring equipment is available and functional.
• Assist with setup of OR cases, including laryngoscope and intubation equipment, IV bags, and warming devices.
• Assist during procedures such as peripheral nerve blocks, insertion of invasive lines, pulmonary artery catheter, central venous access, fiber optic intubation, and difficult airway situations.
• Prepare patients for major invasive monitoring and assist in positioning and draping.
• Demonstrate speed and timeliness for emergencies and trauma procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience as an perioperative assistant, anesthesia clinical assistant, or equivalent experience.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to recognize and establish priorities.
• Basic reading, writing and simple arithmetic skills.
• Basic operation of equipment and machinery.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and hospital policies and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
