Position: RBT (behavior Specialist)

Your role as a Behavior Specialist is vital in helping us strive to achieve our mission. The following outlines the general roles and responsibilities of a Behavior Specialist. This position requires an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) who can provide evidence‑based interventions, maintain regular data collection and time tracking, interact professionally with staff and caregivers, and demonstrate the ability to self‑regulate emotions in high‑intensity situations.

This role requires strong alignment with both caregivers and the clinician overseeing client treatment.

Please note that this role requires afternoon availability
, as many of our clients receive services after school hours. Flexibility during afternoon and early evening hours is essential to meeting the individualized needs of our clients and families. Weekend hours are also available if desired.

Position Overview
  • Employment Type: Part‑Time
  • Reports to: Behavior Analyst
  • Hourly Rate: $19 – $23
  • Schedule: Afternoon availability required
Position Details
  • All part‑time positions are considered anything under 32 total weekly hours worked.
  • No minimum billable requirement for part‑time roles.
  • Part‑time positions are eligible for admin time equal to 20% of total weekly billable hours worked (e.g., 10 billable hours = 2 admin hours that week).
  • Please check in with your supervisor on how best to utilize admin hours.
  • Quarterly performance reviews with annual eligibility for promotions and raises.
  • Raises beyond the hourly cap are available through promotions.

Note: Pay is based on a variety of factors including educational background, relevant work experience, and location (cost of living varies by city, county, and state).

Job Qualifications and Requirements

Required Certification:

  • Active RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification required.

Related

Experience:

  • Prior experience as an RBT, behavior technician, or in childcare/child therapy settings is valued and may qualify for higher starting pay.

Physical Demands

This is an active role working with children where you will be required to stand, walk, and sit throughout sessions. You must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, move quickly to keep pace with energetic children, and maintain stamina to remain alert and engaged during therapy sessions. When basic safety and health precautions are followed, there is minimal potential for harm or personal injury.

Job Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising clinician.
  • Apply behavior management strategies to decrease problem behaviors and teach replacement skills.
  • Observe and document client behavior and progress, providing regular reports to the clinician and team members.
  • Collect and analyze data during every session to track treatment plan progress.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress, behavior plans, and relevant information through required session notes for each appointment.
