We are looking for an experienced assistant manager to support our club manager and deliver exceptional member experience. Candidates must meet the following responsibilities and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required time frames and be physically able to administer CPR in an emergency.
- Obtain Tanning Certification within required time frames.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high‑performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
- Assist with staff management and provide backup support to Club Manager as needed.
- Assist in scheduling and supervising staff, ensuring superior customer experience, and resolving or escalating employee issues.
- Perform all front‑desk related activities including answering phones, checking members in, new member sign‑up, handling member requests and issues.
- Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility.
- Order supplies within budget based on club requirements.
- Track statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
- Provide backup support in case of employee absence.
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness.
- Solid supervisory, diplomacy and listening skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
- Hard‑working, enthusiastic and energetic.
- Strong problem‑resolution skills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
The job requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods, frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, twist, grasp, and repeat hand movements. Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weight (up to 50 lbs). Must be able to administer CPR in an emergency. Work is performed in an indoor environment with exposure to noise, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, and cleaning chemicals.
Adequate hearing and vision is required.
