• All billets will be identified with a laser-etched tag, attached using a Hilti tool. Identification will be printed onto the tag. The required information will be provided on the Melt Shop Order; as a minimum, heat number, product weight, grade, and strand number will be on the tag.
• Preheat billets to an aim temperature of 2,000°F with a 60-minute aim pre-heat time, depending on operating circumstances.
• Preheat tundish shrouds for at least 60 minutes. Inspect the tundish for hot spots every heat.
• Monitor the Melt Shop Order and track the number of pieces needed to complete the order.
• Verify billet count with Billet Yard personnel. Report daily to the production scheduler to maintain the flow of steel and orders.
• Provide proper training for employees to ensure tasks are performed properly and in a timely manner to maximize productivity.
• Report electronically on Level II.
• Ensure tundish gates are servo tested and pass the servo test before the pre-heater is placed on the tundish for pre-heating.
• Keep tundish gates wide open and manage valve positions to keep gates open during pre-heat.
• If a tundish cylinder is replaced, maintenance must verify the cylinder before performing a servo test.
• Maintain mold powders, tundish powders, heat changes, billet identification, continuous casting parameters, casting rounds, tundish level-sequencing heats, mold level deviation, tundish sampling for chemistry, and billet sampling.

• Preferred:
