Quality Lab Technician & Coupling Inspector

Job Overview

Perform inspections on gauges, couplings, and thread protectors to applicable standards and practices. Coordinate calibrations and minor repairs of inspection equipment, maintain records, and ensure compliance with company and national standards. Conduct audits, investigations, and support various quality assurance activities. Develop and revise inspection procedures, maintain a safe work environment, and support internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on gauges, couplings, and thread protectors according to standards.
  • Coordinate calibrations and repairs of gauges and tools.
  • Maintain calibration and inspection records, monitor gauge lab conditions.
  • Conduct NCR investigations, quality visits, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Assist during customer, ISO, and API audits.
  • Perform threading and coupling audits, incoming inspections, and sorting of non-conforming products.
  • Develop and update calibration and inspection procedures.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a lab or inspection environment preferred.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with measurement devices (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Ability to develop and understand SOPs and work instructions.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites.
Education & Certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate Tech degree preferred.
