Diesel Technician – Ryder Supply Chain Solutions

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Youngstown, Ohio.

• Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
• Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days, $2,500 at 90 days
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, weekends OFF
• Hours:
  
  Second Shift 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Standard and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems with diagnostic computer
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Work in accordance with safety, DOT, MOT compliance guidelines
• Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access internal and external maintenance documents
• Support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
• SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
  220)
• Complete 2 OEM online diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines:
  • Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
  • Basic diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems)
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
• All other certifications required by location
• Minimum 2 years experience with heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment repairs and diagnostics
• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Must drive Ryder vehicles; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, Ryder background check
