Field Service Scale Technician – Youngstown, OH
Brechbuhler Scales, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual with mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience to join our team as a Field Service Scale Technician. This full‑time role pays $19 – $29 per hour, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Job SummaryTypical workdays include team meetings, planning for each customer visit, and using company trucks/tools to service, calibrate, and repair customers’ weighing equipment. You will undergo a hands‑on onboarding program, receive mentorship, and become a Certified Scale Technician (CST). Opportunities to advance into senior technician levels, or transition into IT systems, sales, or customer support are available.
Job Requirements- Successfully complete the scale technician onboarding program, including training on fundamentals of the scale technician trade and professional expectations.
- Learn scale products and mechanical/electrical components in the scale industry.
- Use company vehicles, specialized equipment, and tools to service, calibrate, and repair customer’s weighing equipment.
- Support customers on‑the‑job skills.
- Attend regular meetings with manager and mentor to track learning progress.
- Maintain a clean, professional attitude and image.
- Complete and adhere to all assigned safety training.
- Obtain Commercial Driver’s License Class B (CDL B).
- Pass a final exam to advance to Certified Scale Technician (CST).
- Have or be pursuing a CDL Class B (preferred).
- Experience with mechanical or electrical maintenance.
- Highly motivated to learn a new trade.
- Positive work ethic and a customer‑focused mindset.
- Team‑oriented and willing to adapt to change.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Basic computer skills (internet, mobile devices, e‑mail).
- High school diploma or GED.
