Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Youngstown, Ohio.

• Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
• Sign On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF

  Second Shift 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational/Technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gasoline or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems (required)
• Three or more years relevant work experience (preferred)
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
• All other certifications required by location (required)
• Minimum of 2 years experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
• Computer proficiency: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background & motor‑vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification for last 3 years)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
• Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Work unsupervised on most tasks
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation
• Work in accordance with federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Access and use internal/external maintenance documents
• Perform additional support duties as required, e.g., Service Island support
• Obtain SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
  220)
• Complete 2 of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses within 365 days (per location fleet mix)
