Transfer Station Helper​/Yard Jockey

Responsible for managing trailer movement and assisting with general facility operations in our transfer station.

• Safely and efficiently back tractor trailers into the pit for loading and pull trailers around the building and onto the scale.
• Assist the Transfer Station Loader by ensuring proper trailer staging.
• Safely operate heavy equipment as needed, including forklifts, front loaders, and backhoes.
• Securely tarp loaded trailers during filling.
• Maintain general housekeeping, ensuring the work area is free of loose waste and materials throughout the day and at shift end.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (day shift) with occasional Saturday rotation (≈1–2 times a month).

Hours:

Expected 40 hours per week, with possibility of overtime.

Compensation:
Hourly rate plus time and a half for overtime hours.

CDL not required.

• Experience in hauling trailers and operating a manual transmission truck.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Dependable, self‑motivated individual.
• Prior experience operating heavy equipment (backhoes, skid steers, forklifts) is a strong plus.
• Must provide their own safety‑approved work boots.

• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to sit/stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch/squat.
• Carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and maintain safety standards.

• Full‑time employment plus potential overtime.
• Work weeks vary from 5‑8 hour days to 4‑10 hour days.
