SCOPE

The Shipping Coordinator at Gasser Chair ensures the efficient and timely shipment and delivery of orders, playing a crucial role in the supply chain process. This position is responsible for managing daily shipping operations, coordinating with carriers, processing orders, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service. The Shipping Coordinator also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping processes and overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities of this position will include, but will not be limited to:

Plan and coordinate daily shipping activities to ensure timely delivery of orders.

Oversee the packing and labeling of shipments to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.

Schedule and coordinate with various carriers to secure the best rates and services.

Maintain relationships with carriers and negotiate terms when necessary.

Process and track shipping orders using shipping software and ERP systems.

Verify shipment details and ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.

Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.

Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies.

Identify and resolve shipping and delivery issues promptly.

Communicate with customers and internal teams to address and resolve any discrepancies or delays.

Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns related to shipping and delivery.

Keep customers informed about the status of their shipments.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline shipping processes.

Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience as a Shipping Coordinator or similar role.

Proficiency in shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements

The Shipping Coordinator at Gasser Chair is expected to perform job duties that involve the ability to speak fluent English, sitting for extended periods, and working at a computer workstation. Regularly required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and prolonged periods of standing or walking within the warehouse environment. Proficient manual dexterity is essential for tasks such as typing, handling documents, and operating electronic devices.

The ability to work in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures is also necessary.
