PRIMARY FUNCTION
Perform set up and operation of machinery (lathe and/or mill) in order to prepare metallic and non-metallic parts required in the production of products offered to MSM customers and other clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Review blueprints, drawings, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations and/or set up requirements.
- Measure, mark and otherwise indicate the dimensions and reference points on the part or material to be used as guides for subsequent machining.
- Select, align and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines to include mills, lathes and grinders.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust the machine controls or control media as necessary.
- Verify conformance of finished part to ensure that it meets specifications.
- Confer with production personnel, supervisor or others to resolve machining or assembly issues.
- Perform daily maintenance duties and/or notify supervisor of any equipment-related issues that may require attention.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area.
- Responsible for performing dimensional inspections on in-process parts.
This job operates in an environment where the employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions, working around moving mechanical parts.

High school diploma or equivalent. Vocation training preferred or two plus years of machining experience in a manufacturing setting.
TRAININGQuality Management System;
PAY$18-22 an hour DOE
Approx. 6am-4pm, can start as early as 4am, probability of OT and possible weekend work.
