Machine Operator, Manufacturing Production, CNC Machinist
Youngsville, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Specials / Experienced Machinist for a full-time opportunity. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience machining custom/special parts and the ability to work independently.
Essential Duties:Set up and operate CNC machinery (lathe and/or mill) to machine metallic and non-metallic parts.
Independently set up, tool, and run jobs based on prints, specifications, and material requirements.
Create, read, edit, and modify G-Code programs as needed.
Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences.
Measure, mark, and identify reference points on materials and parts for machining operations.
Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
Calculate and set machining parameters including speed, feed rate, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut.
Monitor machining operations and adjust controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
Inspect finished and in-process parts to ensure conformance with specifications.
Perform dimensional inspections and document results as required.
Communicate with supervisors and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues as needed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Skills:
Minimum 5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically running specials/custom work.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency with CNC mills and/or lathes.
Experience with G-Code programming and editing.
Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
High level of manual dexterity and precision.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent use of hands for handling, feeling, and operating equipment.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
.Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment may include exposure to wet or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
