Welder​/Fabricator III

Job Description

Custom metal fabrication company looking for a Fabricator III with at least 5 years of sheet metal fabricatingexperience. 40+ hours per week to start. Competitive wage and benefits package with room to grow, based on experience and performance.

Fabricators are responsible for understanding and adhering to LEM’s Quality Management System and customer expectations to properly weld using Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG welding procedures and finish by examining, grinding, and polishing products ensuring that product outputs meet customer requirements before product is released. Requiring a strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship, this position is responsible for a variety of maintenance and production tasks that promote a safe, efficient production environment delivering high-quality products and reports to the Fabrication Manager.

Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 5 year minimum in fabricating
• Fabrication skills including but not limited to Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures and operating fabrication machinery in a manufacturing shop and is highly proficient in all 3 metal types
• Knowledge of safety techniques and terminology
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures and regularly contributing to best practices for more complex jobs
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, evaluate, and respond to procedures, specifications, drawings, and requirements
• Advanced understanding of mathematical principles and knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, and counts
• Read and operate a tape measure and caliper
• Strong attention to detail
• Solid work ethic and pride in workmanship
• Effective verbal, written, and communication skills
• Expert fabrication and finishing skills including but not limited to welding, print reading, examining, grinding, and polishing using appropriate tools for each procedure
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Basic computer skills

Duties and Responsibilities

This position requires an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Comply with all quality system requirements and specifications
• Comply with all safety system requirements and wear proper PPE and uniforms
• Perform tasks in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow oral instructions to perform necessary processes
• Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity
• Maintain all assigned or department equipment according to procedures
• Independently read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine operations and explain to others as necessary
• Independently identify and locate required materials and parts for assigned jobs and explain to others as necessary
• Maintain and document proper material tracking throughout project such as deficiency logs; may assist as back up to manager for NCR reporting
• Maintain correct time keeping throughout project by tracking in project management software
• Use leadership skills to regularly lead groups within a project and mentor new employees as needed for training purposes
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
