The salary range for this position is $45,000–$50,000 based on qualifications and experience.
Position DescriptionThe Research, Evaluation, and Development (RED) Department at High Scope Educational Research Foundation (High Scope) is seeking a creative, organized, and reliable Instructional Design Assistant to support the updates, development, and delivery of professional learning courses and instructional materials focused on early childhood education. This role is ideal for someone interested in instructional design, technology, and early childhood professional learning development.
While the High Scope team often works remotely, this role requires working in‑person at the High Scope campus approximately twice per month and occasional in‑person meetings.
- Maintain organized project documentation, including version control.
- Conduct early learning and literature scans to support development of new curriculum and professional learning courses (e.g. early learning standards).
- Assist in uploading and monitoring content in learning management systems (LMS).
- Monitor progress of curriculum and professional learning course updates using Asana in collaboration with project manager(s).
- Collaborate with lead developers to support video, audio, and interactive elements.
- Support user testing, including gathering feedback from caregivers, educators, and trainers.
- Routinely disseminate user feedback across RED departments to inform future development.
- Assist in designing and developing new curriculum, professional learning courses, and instructional materials, such as digital modules, course guides, and family engagement resources.
Required
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practices and early childhood pedagogy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Office, TEAMS, Excel, etc.).
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred
- Experience using the High Scope approach in a school or care setting.
- Experience working with young children (birth to age
8) in educational or care settings. - Experience with learning design tools (e.g. Articulate 360, Rise, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
- Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and online course delivery platforms.
- Basic skills in video or audio editing.
Please note that this is a grant‑funded position through October 1st, 2027, with the possibility of extension based on performance and future funding.
