OverviewSupport early childhood education students as they grow into confident, reflective professionals. Through observation, feedback, and goal setting, the instructor helps students connect theory to practice and strengthen their teaching skills. This role provides encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback to ensure students meet course objectives and program goals while developing their own unique teaching style.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare assigned practicum courses using appropriate instructional materials and strategies that align with course objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to the approved course syllabus and comply with institutional policies related to the Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
- Evaluate student performance through practicum observations (in-person or via video) to assess progress toward learning outcomes.
- Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback to support student growth and goal setting.
- Maintain consistent communication with students and program faculty to ensure alignment of expectations and instructional support.
- Create a professional and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence, reflection, and skill development in early childhood education practices.
- Submit grades by due date.
- Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process as required by the College.
- Attend all scheduled department, program, and faculty meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Masters in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of the CDA certification process preferred.
- Experience coaching early childhood teachers preferred.
