Join us as a Run to Standard (RTS) Engineer at Pollard Banknote Limited in Ypsilanti, MI. The role is based at 775 James L Hart Parkway.

Overview

We’re looking for a driven RTS Engineer to join our Manufacturing team to focus on recording and improving OEE performance (Yield, Uptime, Line speed). You will work closely with press shift teams to troubleshoot OEE detractors and guide process control window adherence.

Collaborate with technical groups on performance analysis, troubleshooting and process improvement. Promote and enable sharing of industry best practices.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing standards and machine parameters, including procedures and guidelines for production and testing.
  • Be a liaison for R&D trials and new projects introduction.
  • Maintain the MIS OEE database with valid information for use by shifts.
  • Assist press room leadership with daily communications to the shift.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate standards into product design and development processes.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure standards are followed and parameters are collected properly (vision system, recipe management system, press data, measurements).
  • Analyze data for trend reporting, process improvement and product reliability.
  • Develop recommendations for automation of parameter collection and data recording.
  • Collaborate closely with lab personnel, assigned process engineers, and RTS Engineers in other plants.
  • Provide training and support to line personnel and use data for training needs analysis.
  • Oversee and manage manufacturing content in MIS and other repositories.
  • Be a constant presence on the shop floor; estimate at least one‑third of hours on the floor.
  • Act as a partner and resource to line supervision; collaborate on daily and regular review meetings.
  • Participate as a member of the extended corporate engineering group.
Who You Are
  • Able to lead and participate in targeted improvement efforts within a collaborative environment.
  • Highly organized, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, using time management tools and computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator, skilled at developing clear and concise messages that support the company’s objectives.
  • Self‑driven professional, able to work with minimal supervision to achieve business goals.
  • Positive problem‑solver, using critical thinking to turn challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a cross‑functional team.
What You’ll Bring
  • Post‑Secondary BS in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Commerce and Engineering or other engineering disciplines.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing industry in a similar role capacity.
  • Experience developing and editing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans.
  • Strong computer skills – MS Office, SPC, Query Language, CAD/CAM.
  • Experience with ERP software (asset).
  • Experience in printing and converting, packaging, or finishing environment processing of paper, foil, and film (asset).
  • Knowledge of flexographic, offset and digital printing technologies (asset).
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the USA.
