The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part‑time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Part‑time Chemistry Instructor
LocationLake County Campus – Clear Lake, CA
BASIC FUNCTION- Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Chemistry courses up to 10 hours/week.
- Organize and teach all levels of Chemistry classes.
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments. Distance learning and accelerated courses may be included.
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
- Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Master’s in chemistry OR
- Bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry AND
- Master’s in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry
Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that demonstrates a clear ability to teach Chemistry to community college students.
