Position: RN - Charge Perianesthesia - Main Hospital (Full-Time, PMs)

ENL Perianesthesia

Compensation range: $57.13 - $77.13

Your rate of pay will be based on applicable experience

Shift: PMs Shift length: 10 Hours

Days off:
Variable

Hours per pay period: 80

Position Summary

The Charge Nurse is a licensed professional who contributes their services to providing unit specific management leadership in the areas of first-point-of-contact supervision, direct patient care, patient and staff education, emotional support, and education of families and the community in accordance with the mission and philosophy, standards policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The Charge Nurse collaborates with the physician and interprets the medical plan to staff members.

They direct performance and supervise assigned staff members and assist the next level of management in directing care of the patient and support of the family. The Charge Nurse supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Surgery Services Department.

Education / Training / Experience

Minimum:
One year of current RN experience in a Perianesthesia Care Unit

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
  • Two years Critical Care experience or more
  • Perianesthesia relief charge nurse experience
Licenses / Certifications

Minimum:
Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing;
Current CPR certification;
Current ACLS certificate; PALS within one year of employment.

Desired:
Certified Peri-Anesthesia nurse (CPAN) and/or Certified Ambulatory Peri-Anesthesia (CAPA).

  • Demonstrate technical competence and professional clinical judgment.
  • Effective communication and sensitivity for patients and families in crisis.
  • Organize and prioritize work efficiently in a demanding environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Actively participate in continuing education, unit-based QI task forces, and preceptor programs.
  • Preceptor training of students; serve as a department resource and positive role model.
  • Perform essential functions of the position.
