Federal Work Study - Student Ambassador at San Bernardino Community College District
San Bernardino Community College District accepts applications for Federal Work Study, hourly positions for Crafton Hills College on a continuous basis. Applications remain active for up to one (1) year.
Responsibilities- Assist with outreach activities and events on and off campus under general supervision of the Outreach Coordinator.
- Provide program‑related general support and assistance to faculty, staff, and students during class/lab activities.
- Assist with individual and group campus tours.
- Assist in staff coverage at mall outreach booths.
- Answer prospective students’ inquiries at outreach events.
- Help prospective and current students navigate available opportunities on campus.
- Staff outreach booths and college fairs at local feeder high schools and community events.
- Distribute information and answer questions about the college’s admissions process.
- Travel off campus as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Federal Work Study award letter for the current academic year.
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP).
- Cannot fall below half‑time (6+ units) during employment; must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA and 12 units of college coursework (ESL courses and basic courses can apply); have an educational plan on file and be in good academic standing.
- Current TB test.
- Complete live scan (fingerprinting) prior to hiring.
- Ability to follow directions to carry out duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with equipment/tools used in the program or have completed some related courses.
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
- Prior leadership and/or community service experience; skills in interpersonal communication and ability to relate with diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable with public speaking, working with children, and representing the San Bernardino community.
- Interest in working with the K‑12 student population.
- Submit and pass DOJ live scan/fingerprinting (cost borne by candidate).
- Sealed official transcript(s) in envelope from institution or electronic copies emailed directly from institution.
- Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment.
- Other pre‑employment requirements may be required depending on the position (certifications or licenses).

Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting.
Physical:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard;
and to verbally communicate.
Vision:
See in the normal visual range with or without correction; sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.
Hearing:
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
