Sorenson Engineering has been a global leader in micro‑technology solutions for Aerospace/Defense, RF interconnect, Microwave Test, Fiber Optics, and Medical industries for over 6 decades. This role focuses on precision tool grinding to support high‑precision manufacturing processes. The position is available at the 2nd shift and can be undertaken as Level I, Level II, or Level III, depending on experience.

• Operate lathes, mills or grinders to cut, sharpen, bore, grind, repair or make tools on metal or plastic materials to job requirements.
• Apply knowledge of lathes, mills and/or grinders to produce tools or parts for the production process.
• Inspect, fabricate and finish tools using visual inspection techniques, microscopes, micrometers, automated measuring instruments, chamfering, buffering, polishing, and other finishing techniques.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and housekeeping procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.

Education High School Diploma. Previous work experience in tool grinding preferred.

Knowledge & Abilities - Interpret written and oral instructions.
- Work effectively in a team.
- Apply advanced mathematics and measuring techniques including micromachining tolerances (±0.0002).
- Communicate effectively in English.

Physical Demands Must be able to stand for long periods, occasionally exert push force up to 50 pounds, possess good eyesight and hand dexterity, and distinguish colors.

Exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and skin.
