Pharmacy Technician provides pharmacy related functions or services under a licensed pharmacist’s direct supervision. Measures, counts out, labels, mixes, and records the dosage and amount of medications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Receive refill requests or prescriptions and verify information for accuracy and completeness.
- Input and fill medications as prescribed.
- Receive and store medications, verify quantities against invoices, and inform supervisors about inventory shortages and needs.
- Order, label, and count stock of medications, supplies, and chemicals, and enter stock list data into computer database.
- Prepare and process medical insurance claim records and forms.
- Operate cash registers to accept payment.
- Respond to requests and questions and answer telephone calls.
- Support Variety Care’s accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home and commitment to provide care to all patients that is Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable. Provide leadership and work with all staff to achieve the goals of the "Triple Aim" of healthcare reform—to improve experience, health outcomes, and reduce costs.
- Embodies personal character strength; values open and honest communication and demonstrates high moral and ethical conduct, integrity, adaptability, and sound judgment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Able to walk, bend, lift, and remain on feet for extended periods of time.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Pharmacy license.
- Good decision‑making and problem‑solving ability.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics to solve problems.
- Effective time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Able to stand for very long times.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions efficiently and effectively.
- Retail pharmacy experience.
- Experience with Computer Rx software.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Experience with Computer Rx software.
- Good decision‑making and problem‑solving ability.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics to solve problems.
- Effective time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Able to stand for very long times.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions efficiently and effectively.
