Summary

One position is responsible for the safe, professional transportation of residents to activities outside the Spanish Cove campus. Hours will vary based on need.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, responsible, timely and professional transportation services for residents and staff assistants to and from specified destinations.
  • Assist wheelchair and ambulatory residents in and out of vehicles.
  • Ability to maintain a safe driving record. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
  • Ability to navigate to and from assigned destinations.
  • Be able to read and speak in the English language sufficiently to prepare reports and records, read maps and signs, and converse with the general public.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance program and record keeping for vehicles, as directed.
  • Obey all traffic and vehicle laws, motor vehicle guidelines, and is responsible for any fines or tickets relating to the manner in which the vehicle is operated.
  • Responsible for documenting mileage on gas receipts and expenses.
  • Ability to identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action.
  • Ability to consistently work cooperatively with residents, nursing staff, physicians, families, consultant personnel, reception, community agencies, and ancillary service providers.
  • Ability to be responsible for the safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
  • Ability to come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality. Some nights and weekend travel may be required.
Education and/or Experience

This employee must be a minimum of 25 years of age and possess a valid Oklahoma State driver’s license and recent appropriate driving record. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
