Position Summary
This role will own and manage global sample processes and tools for Gowan Company across the United States, Italy, and Colombia. It includes leading the Desert Depot sample shipping team and maintaining strong functional relationships with sample coordinators in Italy and Colombia. Responsibilities begin at the formulation stage, monitoring the lab dashboard to track progress, coordinating production schedules, and overseeing shipment of outputs.
Processes should remain current as the company evolves, manage the global samples tool, and enforce standardized procedures across regions. Continuous improvement and optimization will be key, along with maintaining accurate inventory data.

Role Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
Manage the Desert Depot sample shipping team responsible for daily sample fulfillment operations, set clear performance expectations, provide coaching, conduct performance evaluations, develop team capabilities through training and professional development, maintain relationships with sample coordinators in Italy and Colombia, promote collaboration across regional teams. - Global Sample Process Ownership and Optimization:
Own all global sample processes from formulation through delivery, monitor lab dashboard, coordinate production schedules with formulations team, ensure accurate inventory entry, update processes, maintain global standardization, identify and implement improvements, lead forecasting for sample demand, document workflows and train teams. - Global Samples Tool Management:
Own the global sample platform, gather user requirements, collaborate with IT, test functionality, troubleshoot issues, adapt tool to evolving processes. - Data Accuracy and Compliance:
Ensure accurate inventory entries, conduct audits, enforce data entry standards and regulatory compliance, control access to GLP samples and confidential compounds. - International Sample Shipping & Trade Compliance:
Manage end-to-end logistics, build relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, regulatory agencies, ensure compliance with EPA, APHIS, TSCA, REACH/ECHA, IMDG/IATA and regional regulations, oversee shipping documentation, resolve customs holds, monitor KPIs, maintain audit records. - Sample Request Coordination:
Review requests, coordinate fulfillment across regions, work with third-party labs, track timelines, address bottlenecks, keep requesters updated.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required in a related field (Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Chemistry, or similar)
Experience / Skills / Abilities
- 3–5 years in process improvement, inventory management, logistics, supply chain, or operations
