Typical Duties:- Serves Students. Responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and repair inventory of the welding technology equipment, instructional materials, and consumables associated with the classrooms, simulation classroom/laboratory, metallurgy classroom/laboratory and automation classroom/laboratory, and other related areas associated with the welding institute buildings and grounds. Supervises part-time lab aids of the welding program. Teach 6 credits/semester. Maintain standard syllabus/outline for each course, in accordance with program/procedures.
- Working with the Dean of Career and Technical Education, departmental faculty develop and implement processes and tools for assessment of teaching and student learning outcomes incorporating appropriate methodologies and technology. Develop a system for evaluation of teaching and learning including course competency expectations and student outcome measures in collaboration with colleagues and program review, curriculum and articulation under the guidance of the Dean of Career and Technical Education.
Incorporate results of assessments to modify instruction and materials in general education. Provide technical assistance to students and faculty staff in the welding technology classroom/laboratory, simulation classroom/laboratory, and automation classroom/laboratory. This includes the use of computers, use of welding apparatus, welding power sources, and auxiliary equipment i.e. grinders, drill presses, robotic welders, CNC plasma cutters, lathes, mills, hydraulic press equipment, and other related program equipment as qualified by training and education to do so. - Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or higher, certificate, licensure at the highest level in the field being taught
- Three full-time years (or equivalent) working in the particular field with one year of full-time work experience being within the last five years
- Arizona Driver’s License or Equivalent
- NCCER credential or the ability to earn the credential within one year of employment
- Current AWS D1.1 Certification in SMAW or FCAW Structural Steel preferred, but not required; certification must be demonstrated on application materials
$49,057- $52,000 per year, depending on experience.
