Essential Responsibilities
  • Maintain assigned UAS aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, and aircraft instruments.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
  • Make circuit analyses, calculate wave forms, and trace relationships in signal flow using complex test instruments such as high‑frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and computer control equipment.
  • Prioritize workload to meet the Daily Flight Schedule.
  • Make entries in aircraft logs and records, attend shift‑change maintenance meetings, and provide guidance and technical expertise to lower‑level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
  • Solve unusually complex problems that affect operational and maintenance capabilities.
  • Exercise independent judgment and leadership in performing assigned tasks in conjunction with production staff and/or avionic leads.
  • Use common and complex test instruments in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Sign off work in either NALCOMIS/OOMA or IMDS.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of CNAFINST 4790.2 and/or DAFI 21‑101.
  • Maintain, repair, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining malfunctions and restoring equipment operations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active Secret US Government clearance with eligibility to obtain a Top‑Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • High School Diploma or completion of relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum.
  • Minimum of three years of actual aircraft avionics and/or ground control station (GCS) maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of one year of actual experience on MQ‑9 aircraft and/or GCS as an avionics technician.
  • Advanced knowledge of basic and complex electronics maintenance and repair.
  • Advanced knowledge of RFF systems, components, and accessories.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft electronics maintenance.
  • Knowledge of theory and principles of operation of engines, accessories and components, theory of flight and electronic flight controls, and a thorough understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Capability to use and read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables.
  • Eligibility to gain and maintain one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, or GSEC, according to DoD 8570.01‑M, within 90 days of hire or before second deployment.
  • Ability to inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
  • Passing grade in all required courses/certifications for continued employment, as needed.
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or wear military‑issued equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
  • Submit updated SF‑86 within 30 days of hire start date.
  • Current/active state‑issued driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI.
  • Associate degree in a relevant career field.
  • Current IAT Level II certification.
  • Prior experience as a defense contractor.
