The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates. Min = $25.35 Mid = $31.69 Max = $38.02
Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated body portions; adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines;
Explains x-ray procedures to patients; positions patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
Performs routine and emergent radiologic examinations or procedures including obtaining and documenting pertinent patient history, explaining the procedures to the patient, answering the patient's questions, and gaining the patient's written consent. Works closely with the Radiologists and/or Interventionalists and other inter and intra departmental healthcare team members to ensure proper delivery of coordinated services, to include assisting in other modalities.
Uses safe radiation practices according to ARRA regulations and licensing restrictions while using common sense approaches to everyday issues, such as reducing dose exposures to neonatal and adolescent patients. Coaches and mentors newly reported Radiologic Technologists, team members and students (i.e. agency, seasonal, transfers, new hires). Exercises fiscal responsibility by ensuring proper inventory control and prudent uses of existing resources, as defined by the department leadership/Clinical Resource Coordinator.
Ensures equipment is properly maintained and proactively addresses all equipment concerns. Complies with department standards for on-call and rotational scheduling at assigned locations - Yuma Regional Medical Center Main Campus, Foothills Imaging Center, and Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging and/or Cardiac Cath Lab areas. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Required:
- Associate's degree OR Graduate of qualifying Program (AMA, JCERT, etc.)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- ARRT Radiography (R)
- Arizona Department of Health Services Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT),
