The Radiation Therapist is responsible for applying ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist and following established standards and practices. Observes and reassures patients during treatment and reports unusual reactions to physician.

• Administers safe and therapeutic radiation therapy treatments through accurate and complete setup as prescribed.
• Prepares treatment room and equipment according to prescription including immobilization devices, field size, distances, lead protection devices.
• Demonstrates clinical competence and clear communication with co‑workers and physicians.
• Observes patients for unusual reactions, events and reports accurate information to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains knowledge of reimbursement procedures and captures charges, ensuring authorization and consent.
• Ensures equipment is properly maintained, addresses concerns, reports operational problems to leadership or medical engineers.
• Exercises fiscal responsibility with inventory control and prudent use of resources.
• Other duties as assigned.

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
