Salary range: $30.67 – $46.01 per hour
The Interventional and Vascular Radiologic Technologist I (IVRT) performs routine, emergent interventional radiography procedures including vascular studies in conjunction with the Interventional Radiologist(s) or the Vascular Surgeon(s), adhering to department protocols on patients of all ages; practices safe radiation dosing for patients, including image gently, and ensures all required QA is completed; maintains a clean and safe workplace.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and emergent interventional and vascular radiography examinations, including obtaining and documenting patient history, using EMR, explaining procedures to patients, answering questions, and gaining written consent; maintain professional flexibility during on‑call and rotational scheduling.
- Perform a wide variety of IVR procedures under sterile field environments to meet the demands of the radiologists or vascular surgeons.
- Use safe radiation practices according to ARRA regulations and licensing restrictions while employing common sense approaches to reduce dose exposures to neonatal and adolescent patients and consider other risk factors.
- Incorporate theoretical knowledge into clinical situations, perform advanced skills, seek consultation for solutions, and reference policies, procedures, and standards.
- Exercise fiscal responsibility by ensuring proper inventory control, item charge assignments, and prudent use of existing resources as defined by department leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Science or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program (AMA, JCERT, etc.).
- Maintain radiography credentials and Arizona State licensure in radiography.
- Completion of cross‑training and competency assessment by the designated interventional provider; sign off on all interventional and vascular radiology competencies is required.
- Obtain the VIR credential within two years after being deemed competent.
