Summary: The Occupational Therapist will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach maximum performance level, restore function, prevent disability, and use skills learned to the fullest to function in the community within their capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design and administer treatment programs to maximize patients' function.
• Use therapeutic exercises and activities to improve or maintain strength, range of motion, and fine‑motor coordination as appropriate or directed by a physician.
• Instruct patients in adapted techniques and the use of adaptive equipment for daily living, and train patients in the use of prosthetic devices as needed.
• Provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instruct patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, transferring, and visual field deficit.
• Train patients in posture control and therapeutic procedures to be continued by patients in office and within a home program.
• Adapt patients’ care plans and techniques based on progress toward functional goals.
• Direct activities of the Occupational Therapist Assistant in accordance with the care plan to achieve functional goals.
• Practice organization and departmental policies, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans, updating regularly based on patient progress.
• Enhance professional growth and development of self and others through educational programs and team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
• 1+ year of related experience in Occupational Therapy (preferred).
• Valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Arizona.
• BLS (AHA).
