Overview
Labor & Employment Attorney position with a law practice seeking an experienced attorney to join the team on a permanent basis. Handle a wide range of labor and employment law defense matters with a focus on employment-related claims, client counseling, and policy development.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Job DetailsAs a Labor & Employment Attorney, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Representing clients in labor and employment-related litigation, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and employee misconduct.
- Advising clients on various labor and employment issues, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Defending clients against claims brought under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA).
- Developing and implementing employment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conducting investigations into allegations of employee misconduct and providing legal advice and recommendations to clients based on the findings.
- Negotiating and drafting employment agreements, separation agreements, and other employment-related documents.
- Providing training and education to clients on labor and employment law issues.
To be considered for the Labor & Employment Attorney position, you must have:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California state bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on defending clients against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and employee misconduct.
- Proven experience with PAGA and FEHA claims.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to providing high-quality legal services and achieving client satisfaction.
- Competitive pay ($150,000-$175,000 depending on experience)
