SummaryThis position will perform multiple tasks related to production and sanitation with the intent to primarily work in production and, when needed, also perform tasks related to sanitation.
Primary Job Scope (Production)This position contains duties throughout the packing facility, including stacking, lifting, dumping raw materials, picking up raw materials from the floor, cleaning, working in wet areas for long periods, packing, and/or sorting. Tasks include loading product, monitoring and manipulating materials at various stages of processing; filling various sized containers; and preparing product for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Separate and stack packed boxes
- Setup and prepare pallets to stack packed boxes on
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using a pallet jack
- Observe equipment operations to detect malfunctions; notify supervisors or operators of any malfunctions or safety concerns
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
- Immediately notify supervisor of any process deviations from specifications or any contamination of product
- Maintain a clean work area, free of safety hazards
- Pick up raw materials and finished product from the floor
- Dump raw materials
- Communicate and work well with others
- Perform repetitive functions with attention to detail
- Work with and around water for a long period of time
- Perform all assigned duties in a proper and timely manner
- Cooperate with supervisors and managers and ensure compliance with all Company policies, SOPs, and GMP
- Follow management instructions
- Complete any other duties assigned
The sanitation crew cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and areas to meet quality control and bacterial standards. Sanitation work occurs during shifts between normal production, often late evenings, nights, or early mornings, and may include overtime on weekends, days, or evenings.
Responsibilities and Duties (Sanitation)- Follow GMPs and safety policies
- Use PPE when handling chemicals and compressed air, if applicable
- Perform good sanitation practices when handling and working with equipment
- Ensure chemicals are used at proper concentrations by analyzing cleaner strengths and sanitizers during the sanitation process
- Report damaged, worn, or needed replacement equipment to a supervisor or team leader
- Follow all SSOPs to clean and sanitize processing equipment and facilities
- Prevent cross-contamination of product and work-in-progress during sanitation procedures
- Follow FSQ requirements such as GMPs and other daily job-specific duties to support QRMP
- Complete all sanitation and required SQF documentation
- Maintain sanitation equipment, including foamers, pressure washers, cleaning equipment, and tools
- Perform any other duties assigned

- Operate in an environment with constant noise, forklift and electric pallet jack activity, wet/damp floors, and moving belts
- Keep foreign objects off belts to maintain safety
- Lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day and push and pull pallet jacks
- Work long hours, including nights and/or weekends as required by business needs
- Work in wet environments and be exposed to cleaning chemicals during sanitation duties
- Proper PPE: hair restrain, bump cap, safety eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, rubber boots, water-repellent jacket and overalls, face shield
- High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required
- Previous sanitation work experience preferred but not required
