Senior Oracle Database Administrator

TEKsystems Global Services is supporting a leading organization within the retail and consumer goods industry that is undergoing a significant cloud and database platform transformation. We are seeking a Senior Oracle DBA / Platform Automation Engineer to join a highly skilled database engineering team responsible for managing and modernizing large-scale Oracle database environments.

This role is ideal for professionals who combine strong Oracle database expertise with a passion for automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and platform engineering. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing manual processes, and supporting the evolution of a modern Oracle Database@Azure platform.

Key Responsibilities

Support and maintain enterprise-scale Oracle database environments.

Work with Oracle Database@Azure and Oracle Exadata platforms.

Contribute to database reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence.

Collaborate with database engineers to improve platform stability and efficiency.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

Design and implement automation solutions for database administration and operational processes.

Reduce manual effort through repeatable and scalable automation frameworks.

Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform.

Create configuration management and deployment automation with Ansible.

Standardize deployment, provisioning, and operational workflows.

Platform Modernization

Support the ongoing development of an Oracle Database@Azure environment.

Improve provisioning, patching, configuration, and maintenance processes.

Drive consistency and automation across database platforms.

Contribute to platform engineering best practices and self-service capabilities.

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, and database specialists.

Participate in design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.

Promote automation and operational best practices across engineering teams.

Required Skills
Oracle Database

Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture and operational management.

Experience supporting production-critical Oracle environments.

Note:

Extensive "DBA guru" experience is not required. Strong Oracle fundamentals combined with automation expertise are highly valued.

Hands-on experience with:

Terraform

Ansible

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Operational automation

Scripting and process optimization

Experience with :

Oracle Exadata
