The Lead EMS Instructor is a full-time position reporting to the EMS Manager & Operations Manager. This role provides coordination and instruction for Genesis Community Ambulance’s EMS education programs, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based training that aligns with state, national, and accreditation standards. The Lead EMS Instructor serves as the primary instructor and academic coordinator, overseeing adjunct instructors, supporting students in both classroom and clinical environments, and contributing to program development and long-range education planning.  

The individual in this role must demonstrate exceptional professionalism, instructional ability, and a commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of Genesis Healthcare.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES*
* ** Instructional & Academic Leadership
** 1.
Develop, update, and deliver course content, including lesson plans, syllabi, objectives, and evaluation tools in accordance with National EMS Education Standards.  2.
Teach in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, providing lectures, skill demonstrations, and hands-on instruction.  3.
Coordinate assigned courses, including scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of instructional effectiveness.  4.
Supervise adjunct instructors and serve as a mentor/role model to students, staff, and the EMS community.  5.
Evaluate student performance across cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains; provide timely feedback, tutoring, and remediation as appropriate.  6.
Maintain accurate student and program records, including grades, skill checklists, evaluations, and course documentation.  7.
Ensure course materials and student resources are posted on learning platforms in a timely manner.  8.
Participate in curriculum review, test item development, and program evaluation for continuous quality improvement.
** Program & Administrative Support
** 1.
Assist the EMS Manager with curriculum development, accreditation compliance, and program administration.  2.
Coordinate clinical and field placements in collaboration with clinical staff and preceptors.  3.
Participate in recruitment, orientation, advising, and retention efforts for EMS students.  4.
Recommend, maintain, and ensure proper use of training equipment and educational resources.  5.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national EMS regulations, as well as Genesis Community Ambulance policies.  6.
Contribute to short- and long-range education planning, including community outreach and continuing education programming.  7.
Support program accreditation site visits, audits, and reporting requirements.
** Professional & Community Engagement
** 1.
Display a positive and professional image of Genesis Community Ambulance and the EMS profession.  2.
Remain current in EMS education methodologies, clinical practice, and regulatory changes.  3.
Maintain required instructor and provider certifications, serving as a lead instructor for standardized courses.  4.
Participate in professional development activities and maintain industry engagement.
** QUALIFICATIONS
* * 1.
Current Paramedic Certificate in the State of Ohio.  2.
Current EMS Instructor certificate.  3.
Minimum 5 years of progressive field/clinical experience as a Paramedic or equivalent.  4.
Minimum 2 years of documented teaching experience in EMS or healthcare education.  5.
